Josue Ortega is proud to be running for the state House of Representatives in Delaware’s 3rd district. Born and raised in the Westside of Wilmington, he is now a proud resident of New Castle County. As a father of four, Ortega has committed himself to the causes of education, housing, public safety, and mental health. 

Having attended Delaware public schools and now having children in the public school system, Josue Ortega understands the importance of quality public education where all students are accounted for. He knows the opportunities that being a Delaware resident offers and aims to advocate for evidence-based approaches to mitigate homelessness and housing insecurity. A fierce advocate for destigmatizing mental health, Ortega supports legislation ensuring early mental health intervention for the public and in schools. 

Born and raised in the Westside of Wilmington, he is now a Community Liaison in the New Castle County government and knows the issues that everyday Delawareans face. Ortega will bring a vision of a better, more equitable, and more accessible Delaware to Dover by representing the third district.
